This is a one year full-time course which involves classroom, fieldwork and work placement education and training. It provides students with the range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge required for employment in the security industry.
The aim of this programme is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and competency to apply for their relevant PSA License and to work in the Private Security Industry.
Graduates can source work in the security industry in a variety of settings such as independent or private security companies as door, static or patrol security. Can work in Events, Corporate and Warehousing security.

There is a total cost of €650 for this course. It is broken down as follows:
Student Services €195 (This consists of a student services fee of €160 and a non-refundable deposit of €35,
Department of Education & Skills(unless holder of Medical Card) €200,
QQI Exam Fees €50 (unless medical card holder)
First Aid Responder €100
Remainder approx. €100 for the following:
Uniform (Jumper and High Vis Jacket)
Security Training Manual

Successful completion of Security Studies QQI Level 5 (minimum of 3 distinctions) provides entry to QQI Level 6 Security Operations and Administration and Higher Education provided in Templemore College.
Graduates fromthe course are qualified to registerwith the Private Security Authority, established under the Private Security Services Act (2004).
